Founding Principal, Lisa Barron has devoted 17 years to developing and refining the special education program at Genesis School. A talented teacher herself, Ms. Barron has fostered an atmosphere of love, hope, respect and encouragement for the 80 plus students in her care, whose needs are as diverse as their backgrounds.
Reared and educated in Florida, Ms. Barron has a clear empathy for the children at Genesis. After a serious accident at age 13 leaving her with multiple debilitating injures, Ms. Barron experienced for herself what it is like to be a special needs child unable to continue in a mainstream school environment.
Her eventual recovery brought with it a determination to provide for special needs children not only a loving environment, but an education aimed at helping them reach their maximum potential, and become happy and productive members of society.
Best described as “a woman with a mission,” Lisa Barron provides a unique learning environment for special needs children and their families living in Singapore.
